Running SignPresenter Offline
SignPresenter is designed to run online, but it can keep playing cached content if you lose internet — or if you need to run signage at a location without WiFi at all. Set it up before you go offline and you're covered.
Before you go offline
1. Verify all content is cached
- While connected to WiFi, check your screen's Cache Size in the Screens tab.
- Confirm the cache shows all items downloaded (e.g., "255 of 255").
- Only cached content will work offline — anything not fully downloaded won't display.
2. Test your playlist
Click Preview or Run Schedule to confirm everything loads without errors.
3. Set the schedule to 24/7
If you're using Run Schedule, set the screen to 24/7.
Fire Sticks don't keep accurate time when unplugged. If you move the device, the clock can drift, which makes scheduled content fail to display. Running 24/7 sidesteps the problem.
Taking the Fire Stick offline
Disconnect WiFi while still online. This lets any in-progress downloads complete and prevents partial-cache errors.
Option 1: Turn off WiFi (newer Fire Sticks)
- Go to Settings → Network.
- Select WiFi.
- Turn WiFi Off.
Option 2: Forget the network (older Fire Stick 4K)
- Go to Settings → Network.
- Select your connected network.
- Press the Menu button (☰).
- Select Forget Network.
- Confirm.
Running offline at your destination
- Plug in your Fire Stick and turn on the TV.
- Dismiss the "No internet connection" message.
- Press Home on the remote.
- Go to Settings → Applications.
- Select Manage Installed Applications.
- Scroll to Sign Presenter and select it.
- Click Launch Application.
Do not click "Clear Cache" — that will delete all your downloaded content!
The screen now runs offline with everything from your cache.
Troubleshooting
Content not displaying?
- Make sure it was fully cached before you went offline
- Verify your schedule is set to 24/7
- Check that the cache wasn't accidentally cleared
Need to update content?
Reconnect to WiFi, update your content, wait for the cache to fill, then disconnect again.
