Expiring Playlists

Use Limit Dates to schedule a playlist to start and stop on specific calendar dates. Great for holiday promotions, conference signage, fundraising drives, or any campaign with a defined window.

How to use Limit Dates

  1. Create the message(s) you want to time-limit.
  2. Select Step 2: Playlists and choose Horizontal 16:9 or Vertical 9:16.
  3. Click Create a New Custom Playlist, name it, and click Save.
  4. In the Edit Playlist screen, add your messages from Available Content.
  5. At the top of the box, click the greyed-out Limit Dates button — this opens a Start Date / End Date picker.
  6. Set your Start Date and End Date and click Save.
  7. Go to Step 3: Screens and select the screen you want this dated playlist on.
  8. In the Schedules box on the right, open the schedule.
  9. Add the dated playlist to the schedule's playlists, and choose the weight (the percentage of run time the dated playlist should take).
  10. Click Save.

The playlist will automatically start on the start date and stop on the end date — no manual cleanup needed.

tip

Combine Limit Dates with weight to gradually phase a campaign in or out: start at 20% weight, ramp to 50%, drop back to 10% in the final week.
