Expiring Playlists
Use Limit Dates to schedule a playlist to start and stop on specific calendar dates. Great for holiday promotions, conference signage, fundraising drives, or any campaign with a defined window.
How to use Limit Dates
- Create the message(s) you want to time-limit.
- Select Step 2: Playlists and choose Horizontal 16:9 or Vertical 9:16.
- Click Create a New Custom Playlist, name it, and click Save.
- In the Edit Playlist screen, add your messages from Available Content.
- At the top of the box, click the greyed-out Limit Dates button — this opens a Start Date / End Date picker.
- Set your Start Date and End Date and click Save.
- Go to Step 3: Screens and select the screen you want this dated playlist on.
- In the Schedules box on the right, open the schedule.
- Add the dated playlist to the schedule's playlists, and choose the weight (the percentage of run time the dated playlist should take).
- Click Save.
The playlist will automatically start on the start date and stop on the end date — no manual cleanup needed.
tip
Combine Limit Dates with weight to gradually phase a campaign in or out: start at 20% weight, ramp to 50%, drop back to 10% in the final week.
